Abstract
Esta tesis ilustra los desarrollos, desafíos y soluciones más significativos de los sistemas de bicicletas compartidas en el mundo. También señala la situación actual, desafíos y recomendaciones para la bicicleta y un posible sistema de bicicletas compartidas en Bogotá, Colombia. Abstract
This thesis illustrates the most significant developments, challenges and solutions of the bike-sharing systems in the world. It also points out the actual situation, challenges and recommendations for bicycle and a possible bike-sharing system in Bogotá, Colombia. The investigation is focused on: identifying the benefits of cycling and the bike sharing system as a sustainable mobility solution, classifying the experiences from the bike-sharing system in the world and identifying the main challenges for Bogotá, to promote cycling and implement a bike-sharing system. This research involves the opinions of various academics, politicians and bicycle leaders.
