Abstract
Although Colombia suffered a recession in 1999 and experienced a long and painful period of recovery from it, in recent years, growth rate of economy in Colombia has been impressive. In 2007, Its GDP reached 8.2% (Week, 2007). This rate is one of the highest growth rates in Latin America. On May 28 2007, the American magazine called Business Week published an article naming “Colombia: The most extreme emerging market on Earth" (Week, 2007). Colombia's economy has improved. Moreover, the US-Colombia Free Trade Agreement (FTA) is going to be implemented in 2012. Colombia has signed a number of trade agreements with other countries, including Canada, Chile, Mexico, Switzerland, the EU, Venezuela, South Korea, Turkey, Japan, and Israel. It has become easier for Colombians to run local business because the multi-connections between Colombia and other countries. We will use this profitable situation to run our own business by importing a new technology from Japan. We are going to create a business with photo booths called “Purikura” and ID photo booths. Our company will be based in Bogota which is the capital city of Colombia. Bogota is one of the largest city with a population of 7,155,052 (2008) people (Bogotá, 2008).
