| dc.description.abstractenglish | The fashion industry today faces growing consumer distrust, largely driven by the unsustainable practices associated with fast fashion, which has weakened perceived value and made customer loyalty harder to build, especially among young consumers aged 18 to 30. Against this backdrop, this research set out to understand how young consumers in Bogotá interpret and experience emotional marketing, and how these experiences shape their perception of value and their loyalty toward fashion brands. To do so, the general objective was to interpret how these consumers make sense of emotional marketing strategies within their brand experience, and how that meaning translates into brand attachment and loyalty, supported by three specific objectives focused on brand attachment, the key elements of emotional marketing, and the relationship between emotional connection and loyalty. The study was developed under a qualitative, phenomenological approach, drawing on twelve semi-structured interviews with young Bogotá residents who consume fashion regularly, analyzed through thematic and narrative analysis techniques. The results identified five consumer typologies the aesthetic-visual, ethically conscious, aspirational, narrative-communal, and functional-pragmatic and confirmed that emotional marketing strategies do generate meaningful experiences, but only when consumers perceive them as authentic; this perceived authenticity turned out to be the condition that determines whether an experience strengthens the bond with the brand and, ultimately, drives loyalty. With this, the research not only offers qualitative evidence on a segment of Colombian consumers that has been largely overlooked, but also gives fashion brands, particularly emerging and independent ones, concrete tools to build more coherent, human, and lasting relationships with their customers. | |
